Callout for Projects – funding available! 4 Together Partnership Area Budget

The 4 Together Partnership has a pot of £134,902 of its Area Budget provided by Durham County Council to allocate over the coming months.
With an overarching theme of “COVID Recovery”, the 4 Together Partnership are seeking potential projects from eligible groups, with a minimum grant level of £5,000, that will help at least one of our communities within the 4 Together Partnership (Ferryhill, West Cornforth, Bishop Middleham and Chilton & Windlestone), to get back on their feet, so that during and coming out of COVID we will have strong, supported groups, and communities by providing opportunities to improve mental and/or physical health, and assisting residents to live a happier and healthy life with a focus on at least one of the following locally identified issues:
• Activities/resources to assist supporting the community in relation to their mental & physical health and wellbeing, tackling social isolation, supporting vulnerable people, providing transport costs to access resources if needed, providing access to food and other life resources.
• Employment & Training, including new skills, upgrading, re-training – advice, guidance & support.
• Support for community groups/service providers, including facilities/venues – future organisational sustainability, providing welcoming, safe environments, user-ready facilities, staffing & running costs.
Funding can cover capital and revenue costs – anyone who is unsure whether they meet the criteria can contact the team for more information.
ALL projects MUST be from an eligible not-for-profit group who have a governing document, annual accounts and bank account in the name of the group with at least 2 unrelated signatories. Only not for profit organisations are eligible to receive Area Budget, which include: voluntary & community sector organisations, statutory bodies including DCC services, Police, Fire, Health, Town & Parish Councils, Schools and Colleges, Company limited by guarantee
Expression of Interest forms must be fully completed please- and the following supplied at the same time, to be eligible for the Area Budget process before the deadline of 4.00pm on Friday 30 October 2020
• A Fully completed Expression of Interest Form (all sections responded to)
• Quotes: 1 per item under £5,000 – 3 quotes for any items over £5,000 – (or explanation of specialist quote if over £5k with only one quote).
• (with smaller items – printouts of pages from internet etc including prices where items would be purchased from, or reference to where your costs have come from) – Taking best value consideration
• Evidence of support/involvement from other service providers, emails, letters – especially if mentioned in the application
Projects should have a start date no earlier than December 2020 to allow time for applications to go through our technical appraisal process, and will be decided via a ranking process after the deadline.
Lee Copeland, Principal AAP Coordinator for Durham County Council, said: “As we are in unprecedented times and all communities and groups have been affected by the recent pandemic in their own way, we have been finding out how we can help shape the Area Budget Callout to meet the needs of our communities over the coming months.
