LIGHT FESTIVAL
Chilton Academy Friends would like to invite people to their light festival in school from 5.15 – 6.15pm, entry 50p per person.
Visitors will be amazed by the light displays made by the children. At the event will be refreshments, raffle and a match the sock game. Chilton Academy Choir will be entertaining us as well as the amazing LED Stilt Walkers.
The stilt walkers and the Chilton Academy choir will then lead a lantern procession at 6:20pm to the Town Council Offices for the official light switch on.
NOTE: please bring your own lanterns, torches etc (no real flames) for the procession. We also ask that parents, carers etc. of the choir attend the event with their children both at the school and Town Council Offices (entry admission applies)
A road closure will be enforced from 6pm – 7.30pm.
NOTE: Please can parents/guardians of children performing in the Choir refrain from entering the barriers when dropping off & collection them to ensure their safety.
CHRISTMAS LIGHTS OFFICIAL SWITCH ON
On arrival of the lantern procession at the Town Square the Council would like to invite visitors to join us and sing a selection of Christmas carols from 6.30pm prior to the official switching of the Christmas tree at 7.00pm by the Mayor and this year’s Gala Princess winner. There will be performances by Chilton Academy Choir and Ferryhill Town Band. On site will be a small fun fair ride and catering.
Sweet mince pies and ginger wine will be available. There will be refreshments for the children and they will be pleased to know that Santa will be dropping by to visit. The Town Council wish to thank everyone who has assisted with the event and all those who have performed.
