The Mayor, Councillor M. Young stated “Members in setting this year’s budget considered all issues affecting the Town Council during the 2019 – 2020 civic year. We were aware of the impact on our residents and limited the rise to 2%. In taking the decision members considered the current rate of inflation at 2% the fluctuation costs of utilities and staff pay increases during April. My members are proud to be supporting residents in the provision of community events and we continue to support the Miners Welfare Charity”.
