On 16th May 2017 I was honored to be elected as Mayor. Since then I have had the privilege to represent the residents of Chilton at a variety of events within Chilton and locally.
As many of you are aware I am not originally from Chilton but am extremely proud of the Town I now call home. This is most notably for the demonstration of community spirit and respect residents have particularly in people’s time of need and for annual events such as Durham Miners Gala and Remembrance Day.
I have had the pleasure of officially opening the Annual Gala, receiving both a planter & a seat from Endeavour Woodcrafts on behalf of the Town Council, participating in the annual bulb planting with Chilton Primary School and more recently selecting the winner for the Christmas Card Competition, performing the annual switching on of the Christmas Lights along with the Gala Princess winner and the Civic Carol Service.
One of the highlights of my civic year has to be the success of the Fireworks Display. It was fantastic to watch & a credit to those involved.
I would like to thank each & every one of you who has attended, participated & assisted with organising events & supported the Town Council this year. All help and assistance is greatly appreciated.
Finally, on behalf of myself, my family, members & staff at Chilton Town Council I would like to wish readers a
Joyous Festive Season & a New Year of Peace & Happiness.
