Crime Prevention

The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 gave new powers and duties to town & parish councils. Chilton Town Council are committed to make Chilton a safe place to live and work. We do this in a number of ways such as:

Local Police and Neighbourhood Warden

Chilton has its own dedicated Police Community Support Officers (PCSO) called Maritin Dauber and Sarah who work alongside PC Brian Hall providing a police presence within the Town. Anyone who would like to log a complaint can do so in various ways; Anonymously by posting complaint in the designated box within the Town Council office or logging a complaint along with contact telephone number in the book located within the Town Council or leaving a message on the voice mail 01388 722718. The Police/Neighbourhood Warden will retrieve and respond accordingly. PC Brian Hall holds open sessions each Wednesday from 12 noon at Chilton Town Council offices where members of the public can call into see him. There may be occasions where he is unavailable as he is assigned to other duties. Durham County Council have a designated Neighbourhood Warden working in the Town called Kimberley Elleanor who works closely with PC Brian Hall, Martin Dauber and Sarah the PCSO's. C.C.T.V

CCTV Camera

Chilton Town Council have 4 C.C.T.V camera's located on Durham Road, Eden Terrace and within the the Recreation Ground at West Chilton Terrace.  These camera's are monitored 24 hours a day and recording onto digital harddrives.
