Christmas Lights Switch On and Parade

FRIDAY 24TH NOVEMBER 2017

This year’s event will be different as each year group from Chilton Primary school have been busy creating a light display. Meanwhile Chilton Primary Friends & Chilton Junior Club are making lanterns to use in a parade prior to the switch on. The light display will be open to the public to view in the school hall from 16.30pm – 18.00pm.

Entry is by ticket only which are £1pp and on sale at Chilton Town Council offices, weekdays from 9.00am – 15.00pm and Chilton Community College from 17.30pm – 20.00pm weekdays excluding Wednesdays.

Included in the ticket price is the option to choose a lantern & join the parade which will be lining up at the school’s main entrance gates from 18.00pm –18.10pm.

The parade will leave promptly at 18.15pm following a designated route ultimately arriving at the Town Square at 18.30pm ready for the lights switch on.

NOTE: Children under the age of 14 mustbe accompanied. In the interest of public safety, a road closure has been organised.

At 18.30pm the usual festivities will commence including; small fun fair ride & catering vehicle plus members of St Aidan’s Church have kindly agreed to supply & circulate sweet mince pies & refreshments.

Reverend Alison Richardson has agreed to lead the event.

Hopefully SANTA will take time out of his busy schedule & drop by the event.

The culmination of the event will be the official switch on off the lights at 19.00 pm by the Mayor, Councillor Tonya Duprey accompanied by this year’s Gala Princess Winner Faith Corr.

The Town Council wish to thank the Christmas Lights Volunteers who have kindly raised £162.00 towards the lights along with everyone else who is assisting & performing at both events.
